XPA will be at Beer Festival!
After the success of last year’s special ale, Ilkley Brewery and Wharfedale Brewery are working together once more to produce the unique XPA which combines solid Yorkshire backbone with plenty of hoppy goodness.
The XPA was a huge success at last year’s Ilkley Beer Festival and the two breweries felt it only made sense to bring it back for the annual event.
Money from every pint sold will go towards the Ilkley and District Round Table charity fund which supports local good causes.
Nick Winterbottom, this year’s beer festival organiser, said, “We are delighted to have the special XPA available at the Ilkley Brewery bar and the Wharfedale Brewery bar. It was possibly the most popular beer at last year’s festival and we fully expect it will draw the crowds again!”
Tickets for this year’s Ilkley Beer Festival, taking place at The King’s Hall, Ilkley, on 9th and 10th February, are nearly sold out with only a handful of tickets left remaining for the Friday evening session. Tickets can be purchased online or from The Wheatley and The Flying Duck pubs in Ilkley.
Our open log fires are especially welcome perhaps after a walk on the nearby moors. Take a seat in our popular Yorkshire bar and try hand pulled real ales. Delicious food is served throughout the day in all the lounge areas, the dining rooms and in our stunning garden room or on the patio.
Refurbished in 2013, The Flying Duck occipies one of the oldest buildings in Ilkley. The barn housing the brewery to the rear is perhaps even older.
Looking for the perfect place to meet friends and family, relax, unwind and debrief from work, then look no further than the stylish Black Hat located in the heart of Ilkley. We are an independent neighbourhood bar and restaurant that has drawn inspiration from the local area and its people.
Wharfedale Brewery is situated in Ilkley town centre on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. In late 2012, a group of friends and real ale enthusiasts came up with the idea of a brew Pub in Ilkley. In March 2013 they took over the lease of the former Albert Inn and incorporated a micro brewery in a barn at the back. Built as a farmhouse in 1709, Wharfedale Brewery was brought back to life once more and resulted in brewing returning to Ilkley town centre for the first time in over 100 years.
The Ilkley Brewery and Aerated Water Company was originally founded in 1873, and soon grew to become one of the region’s leading beverage producers and suppliers. With constant innovation and development, the process from grain to glass is an exciting journey, and we want our passion to be tasted in every drop.
